Our approach
Our Mission
Committed to Saving Mothers and Newborns Across Pakistan
Our mission is to reduce maternal and neonatal mortality in Pakistan’s underserved populations by providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare and support for mothers and babies at every stage – before, during, and after childbirth.
Our Vision
A future where no mother or newborn dies from preventable causes of childbirth.
We envision a Pakistan where every pregnancy is safe, every birth is supported, and no mother or newborn is lost to preventable causes. Our work is driven by the belief that access to quality maternal care is a basic right — not a privilege.

Our Impact
Jeena Foundation’s work offers life-saving interventions where they are needed most. Pakistan faces critical challenges in maternal and newborn health – the maternal mortality ratio is around 186 per 100,000 live births, and neonatal deaths remain high with provincial rates often exceeding 50 per 1,000 live births in underserved areas.
These numbers translate to thousands of families losing mothers and babies to preventable causes each year. By reaching 100,000 pregnant women annually with essential care and support, Jeena Foundation aims to change this story.
Research shows that scaling up proven maternal health interventions in poor and rural communities could prevent over half of maternal and newborn deaths — and this is the potential impact we strive to achieve.
What We Do
We provide a range of programs and services to ensure mothers and babies get the care they need at each step of the journey. Our core initiatives include:
Antenatal Care
We offer free pregnancy check-ups (including ultrasound, blood, and urine tests), distribution of prenatal vitamins and iron supplements, and personalized nutrition counseling for expectant mothers.
Early and regular antenatal care helps detect health issues, boosts maternal nutrition, and prepares families for a safe delivery, aligning with global standards for healthy pregnancies.
Delivery Support
Jeena Foundation ensures safe childbirth by arranging hospital or clinic deliveries with skilled birth attendants. We coordinate facility bookings and provide emergency transport (ambulance services) for women facing complications or living in remote areas. By helping mothers deliver under proper medical supervision, we greatly improve outcomes for both mothers and newborns and reduce the risks associated with home births.
Postnatal Care
After childbirth, we continue to care for mothers through postnatal check-ups and recovery support. Our team offers breastfeeding counseling and health education to new mothers, helping them heal and gain confidence in caring for their newborns. We also monitor the mother’s well-being in those critical weeks after delivery, addressing any complications and ensuring she has access to family planning and other services as needed.
Newborn Support
We support newborns during their first six months with baby care kits containing essentials like clothes, diapers, and hygiene items. We raise awareness about immunizations and help track follow-up vaccines to protect infants from disease. For mothers unable to breastfeed, we provide infant formula to ensure every baby is fed. Our goal is to give vulnerable newborns a healthy start and reduce neonatal risks.
Each of our programs is delivered with warmth, cultural sensitivity, and a strong commitment to quality.
Jeena Foundation draws inspiration from successful maternal health interventions by global leaders, focusing on evidence-backed practices that save lives.
Whether it’s a prenatal check-up in a remote village or a safe delivery in a partner hospital, we treat every mother and baby with compassion and respect.
Alongside our partners and supporters, we are building trust in healthcare and ensuring even the most marginalized families feel seen, heard, and supported.
Our approach mirrors global efforts like Save the Children and the White Ribbon Alliance, yet remains uniquely tailored to the needs of families in Pakistan.
By prioritizing clarity, empathy, and community partnership, Jeena Foundation stands as a beacon of hope — committed to saving lives and creating brighter futures for mothers and children across the country.

"From Heartbreak to Hope: A President’s Mission to End Preventable Maternal and Newborn Deaths"
When Jeena Foundation began in 2004, it was not just the start of an organization—it was the birth of a deeply personal mission.
My wife and I were moved by the painful truth that far too many mothers in Pakistan lose their lives bringing new life into this world—and far too many newborns never get the chance to take a healthy first breath. These were not just statistics to us. They were real stories. Real families. Real grief.
We named this initiative Jeena—which means to live—because we believe every mother deserves the chance to survive childbirth, and every child deserves a healthy beginning. No woman should have to choose between poverty and safety during the most vulnerable time of her life.
A future where no mother or newborn dies from preventable causes of childbirth.
Over the years, our journey has taken us into villages where healthcare is a distant dream, into homes where mothers silently bear the weight of risk and fear. It is there, among the underserved and unheard, that we have found our purpose.
At Jeena Foundation, we don’t just provide check-ups, supplements, or birth kits. We restore dignity. We bring hope. We walk with mothers through every heartbeat, every contraction, every uncertain moment—so that life can flourish where death once loomed.
Our mission is rooted in love and fueled by compassion. We believe change begins with care, and care begins with presence. That is why we are committed to being present—in communities, in hospitals, in homes, and in hearts.
As we set out to reach 100,000 mothers annually, our dream grows bolder, but so does our resolve. We are not alone. We are surrounded by passionate team members, generous supporters, and a community of change-makers who share our belief that no mother should die giving life, and no child should be born into neglect.
Thank you for believing in this mission. With your support, we will continue to transform lives—one safe birth, one healthy baby, one empowered mother at a time
